Restorative Practices in Schools and Communities RP Online Educational Sessions 2020

Description:
Registration is now open for the Minnesota Department of Education School Climate Center Restorative Practices in Schools and Communities Online Educational Sessions this June. Restorative practices (RP) are drawn from the traditions of indigenous people and communities of color around the world. Restorative practices is an approach schools can use to improve school climate and repair harm.

This time of physical distancing offers us a unique perspective on relationship, harm and the continuous efforts to create safe and equitable learning environments. Circle, repairing harm and equity learning is continuous. Our current restrictions challenge us to grow in new ways. We are offering two kinds of PR Online Education, facilitated by RP educator/trainers:
ē Building the Restorative Impulse, for people who wish to gain understanding of the mindset that is needed to support practices such as circle and repairing harm, or who wish to deepen their own restorative understanding;
ē Coaching Circles, for people who have attended trainings in restorative practices and are applying their skills with adults and students in schools and community.

The fee for each three day, 2 hour session is $75; each session is limited to 20 participants. Nine CEUís and Administrative CEUís will be offered. People who work in education, restorative justice/practices and with youth are welcome to register.

Each participant may register for one session per week. Registration closes June 1, 2020. There will be no refunds given after that date.

Review the session descriptions and the two week schedule on the MDE Restorative Practices Website.
